So I'm riding ths week in northern Minnesota. We are staying in kabetogama, and the trails are very good. The lakes are awesome. Two days and we have ridden 325 miles so far.

Anyway here is my issue. Rolling across the lake at 65 tonight and the belt blew. Not broken... Exploded. The side cover blew open and shreds of belt blew out. Literally the belt delaminates and came out in pieces the size of a silver dollar.

So the guard under the belt appears bent. It's now shaped like a sideways J.... Like a J rotated 1/4 turn clockwise, so it's sort of hooked upward in the front. I assume this should be flat, not bent.

There is no dealer or sled mechanic for many miles. Could someone post a picture of that guard so I can be sure I'm bending it the right way? I'm going to try to fix it in the morning. This is the guard that is above the coolant hose and below the belt. I think it's there to protect the coolant hose from moving belt parts.

This belt really let go! Anyone ever see a belt shred like that? This is on my 11 vector.

I have had to belts do this to me on my 06 apex. They were over heating, so I add some vents to the sled to let iut the hot air and cool the sled.

Here ya go

Awesome! Thanks! You helped me find it,and now I just have to figure out how to fix it out here in nowhere land. The diagram sure looks like its flat, not curved up in front. It's actually Part Number: 8FP-2198G-01-00. I'll try to post a pic later when the sun comes up more.

looks like you may have hooked it with the belt i am almost positive that is supose to be flat

in fact looks like you will hook it again if you ride it right now

Blown Belt

Those rollers also look like they are full of rust , have you ever had the clutches serviced ,

Enjoy Your Ride Bro ,

Thanks for all the replies! Good point on the clutch. Luckily where we're staying they have a heated shop so we can work on it now. I'll try bending it down as flat as I can. I can also check that clutch. It's not been serviced but the sled is only a year old. Hopefully okay.

We just this problem on a Vector last week. You are definitely going to impact that belt when it slackens there. We cold hear a little whine from it rubbing at idle before we figured it out. Bend down that end in the photo and check the other end.
