Is it just me, or does the front end of the nytro (a-arms) pack up with snow like a mo-fo. I was doing a bunch of spring riding yesterday, and the snow packs in there so tight that it makes steering at full lock difficult. I can clear it out but carving in the snow just packs it right back in there.

So, is it just me?

Has anyone else noticed this?

To clean it out I have to kick the snow out.

Mine does that also. Never really seen a sled that doesn't do that. The new cat with that huge distance between the arms might not.

Get a Float Plate.Skinz.Big improvement on my Phazer and yes a-arm sled are snowplows compared to old trailing arms or spring sleds.

X2 all sleds do it.
I agree all sleds do it, but I haven't had one yet that made it difficult to turn.. The Nytro gets packed in so tight that it makes steering difficult. Note that this is mostly in spring time riding with our Cascade Concrete. That stuff sets up fast!! lol

Use some pledge on the arms. It works for me.
on my suspension it isn't that the snow is sticking to the a-arms, it is that the snow gets packed so tightly in there that it can't get out or fall through the bottom of the a-arm.

X2 I got a float plate on my phazer and it made a huge difference. More of the snow gets pushed down under the sled.

Just a bigger area to trap snow in IMO.

I have had the snow pack in there as well when its really heavy snow but I have not had a big issue with it. It seems to clean out enough quickly to me.

I think the issue is highly dependent upon the snow conditions that you ride in. Dry fluffy powder, probably not. Super slushy snow where you can grab a handful of snow and it is already packed into a tight ball, yah that is a problem.

Cascade concrete is something to experience. It is amazing wet stuff. Think sno-cone. Seriously.

I think people are confused with the idea that snow sits on the chassis, and snow is force packed into the a-arms and compacts. These are two different things.

You are right but the snow cant get packed in between the a-arms if the arms dont go into the snow in the first place.Thats what float plate does.Keeps front up out of the snow.Of course nice wide skiis also help this alot.

pictures of the front end with snow packed in it. Note that I have to kick it to get it removed, and once removed it will pack in really quickly and I will have to repeat the process. Fun stuff.
