Was out riding tonight and lifted my hood when I was stopped and noticed that there was some arching ( sparking) around one of the rubber boots Flanges on one of my coils. I pulled it off and put it back on and the arching stopped. Does this mean the coil boot is bad. Could it be arching below the flange without being able to see it.

yes, it could be arcing below the flange . . . pick up some dielectric grease and smear all over your boots, this will fix the problem.

Heh Brent, I had this problem and it was from carbon dust
On the coils which carry a spark very well.... Too well.
A good clean and dialectic grease inside the boot fixed it up good as new...
I wasn't aware that you put it all over your boots ... I just put a dab on the inside
Of the boots... Should they be all over the outside as well?
