Poor headlight solution

Added a light bar to my Nytro today. I had always found it to be pretty bad riding at night. It seemed the headlight was either pointing at the sky or too close with no happy medium. This is a 6" double row LED light bar I purchased on Amazon. I made some custom brackets that attach to the existing bolts holding the reflectors on the front bumper. Should be awesome for night rides now.

That looks really good. I have not liked most applications of aftermarket LED lights that I have seen posted on TY. Let us know how if works.

After my ride tonight, I'm going to do the same thing. Did you tie it into your high beam or just run a switch to the bars?

I decided to put the light bar on a separate switch straight from the battery. I was worried it might mess with the computer if I put extra draw on that circuit.

I'm actually still waiting on my switch to show up in the mail, hopefully will be here tomorrow. I'll post some photos once I install it.


And yes I do think the headlight is really that bad. By far the worst sled I've ridden at night. When on the throttle it's pointing at the sky, when on the brake its pointing 30 feet in front of you.

Sounds like you need to try And keep the skies on the ground , and seems to be a hard thing to do with this torke monster

Painfully so. I've ridden every night this week after work and I kept switching from hi to lo and there was no happy medium. When I talk to myself in my helmet and say, "You have to do something about this" it's usually time to do something about this.

Looking forward to pictures. Please post the particulars, model #'s, etc. I seriously want to do the same thing. Have you looked at the DDM tuning HID kit for the headlight? It was posted in another forum on here.

I an interested in the results as well. I put hids on mine And it made a huge difference but I always looking for more.

I finally received my switches in the mail today. I wired the power staight from the battery. Still don't have a ride report as tje snow conditions suck. Here are a few pics of the install.

Looks great! I opted for the Westin 09-13206C EF2 LED light bar. Going to run it through a relay and tie into my high beam. I may try your route and add a switch off the relay so I can just shut it off or also use it as another high beam indicator as the one in the display makes it hard to tell the difference. I'll be under $40 when it's all said and done.

I have nearly the same set up, 6” light bar, switch wired directly to the battery. This changed night Riding for me... there is no comparison between this and stock. I get lots of compliments on the Light bar. One other bonus is that you can switch it on while the sleds not running and light up a shack, or whatever else! It hardly draws any power

Looks sweet, ssrider, where did you get those switches. Like the blue LED on them and mounting location is perfect for an accessory. I went with the www.rocztoyz.com plug and play HID setup as step 1 for better lighting, no power or ground connection, just plug HID harness plug into existing bulb connector. Super bright, doing final loom of wires next few days, will post pics. Considering adding the LED lights to the PowerMADD hand guards next.
