Poor running Apex------its a long story

I must have done a through inspection of everything that needed to be checked because the boys at Excell couldn't find anything wrong with it either!!! :o| I was hoping that they would find a loose connection--frayed wire--SOMETHING!!! And they also rode it a good 20 minutes and they couldn't feel the engine burble at 6000-7000 rpms. I am gunna go and ride it at the dealers this AM and if it don't burble at 6000-7000 rpms then it must be a connection that is getting moisture and has dried out in the shop--Guess I will see what happens!!

I hate that! The code came up for a reason, there is a problem somewhere. Hard to diagnose when it is intermittent though.

Dealer found the coil harness had bad connectors on 3 and 4. The mechanic found the connectors were loose when using his tester. The tester has leads that you can plug into the connector and see how snug they fit. They also were black inside. It makes sense, but I will need to put on some miles to know for sure. I have no rideable snow right now. A storm is supposed to roll though tonight, so hopefully I will be riding soon!

I will post my results.

90 miles of slow two track riding yesterday due to low snow. No codes and the sled ran great! Will feel more confident when I can run her hard for a couple hundred miles as this is not a typical riding day for me.

Crossing my fingers for you...Those kind of problem are pretty hard to find!

When my 07 was new I had a similar problem. My sled would run at all at low RPM's and it would only run good at WOT. It would also burn fuel like crazy. I filled it up and ran out in 60 miles. It ended up being a bad throttle position sensor.

140 harder miles this weekend. No code, sled it running great. I am comfortable with taking the sled long distances again. Just need some snow.

Sweet.i ride my sled pretty hard also, they may start to loose there grip one day.now i will know what to replace. :letsnow: :letsnow: :letsnow:

Mine hasn't thrown a code in a long time either---Dealer never found anything wrong with mine soo he is thinking that I had junk in the fuel rail and when I took the injectors off it cleared up the problem. Keep on riding fellas--snow won't last much longer!!! :yam:
