Just spent $400.00 to have my gas tank removed, drained and flushed, new filters installed, fuel lines blown out, carbs cleaned and sync'd, because of sand and water I got while fueling up at small town/resort stations. Has any one come across a portable fuel filter you could carry with you and attach to the station nozzle before fueling up?

Have you seen me lately? lol The sand is the hardest to filter as the screen/filter has to be very tight. I would find a new fuel stop. It easy for me to say because we here in the states have alot more choices vs you guys as everything is spread out more trail wise.

Thanks Yamahas- looks like profill might have worked. Since they went out of business a year ago, however, maybe it didn't work after all. Surprised someone else is not marketing that type of product for guys running buggies and quads in sand.

True, or people just did not want to order from Australia due to shipping? Or since they where all hand stitched they where not worth continuing. I am sure someone on this side of the world has something similar it was just the first thing that popped up.

filter

Go to a auto paint supply place and pick up some disposable filters that are used for filtering paint..They fold up nicely and when done chuck 'em..Cost...pennies...Hospitals also use them for paitiens with stones..they pee into them and the particles get caught...Again use 'em and chuck 'em

Here's one that might work. Don't know of anyone who has tried it yet though:

MrFunnel

This looks like a great funnel, just afraid of the price but it would be cheaper than going through what the original poster went through.

I would also like to know how long it lasts or can it be cleaned easily enough?

The one from Aussie looks great too, especially if it remains there under your cap.

Thanks guys
The funnel might work ,but not too portable, my 07 Vector hardly has room to store a bottle of water. The body shop filters may take a long time to filter tru a tank of gas. The Aussie one looks like the best design ( kinda looks like something a Health teacher might show to grade 7 students) just need to find one to try.
