Drowned RX1....water in fuel?ECU??

Also wondering....Do the carbs use the vacum from the vacum line that hooks to the front of the air box?And does anyone have a good idea for getting the carbs back in the boots properly? Was thinking about using a hair dryer on them to get them as warm as possible and maybe smearing a little silicone around them.Is this ok?

Put a tiny bit grease around inside the carb boots.

Is there a problem with with your line to the front of the airbox? The 1/4" rubber hose from the front of the airbox is an airbox drain.

Nope,no problem with the air box.I could have sworn I felt that hose sucking when I had the motor running....just assumed it was a vacuum line.Haven't started putting it back together yet.Probably tomorrow. Will keep you posted.Hopefully the air box was the problem.

WOoooooo HOoooo!!
Who would have thought that the air box would reek so much havock?Just got in from test riding and WOW!!! I forgot the sound and feel of a good running Yamaha 4 Stroke!! My yard is now full of trenches :jump:
Only issue I seem to be having is the idle seems to be going just a little bit up & Down.Thought maybe I didn't put the throttle positioning sensor on right when I cleaned the carbs but I can't see how you could screw that up.It's pretty straight forward.
At any rate I'm tickled pink with the way its running.Thank you all at Totally Yamaha!!

With that much water in the gas I would also change the filter that is in the gas tank. I had water in mine once when using race gas from the bottom of a barrel and the filter plugged up. I just used a flashlight and coat hanger and pulled the filter out the filler opening.

Well, glad to see we got that sled going fine. My idle moves around a bit too from time to time. I think it is dealing with differences in temps and quality of fuel. You may want to consider just trying it for a while, and see if it settles down. This has been a long journey! Just think about how much you have learned from this (e.g. like stay off the early ice, etc :) )

You got that right,I don,t want anything to do with H2O....Frozen or not!Plenty of mountains and hills for me to ride on.
As long as I'm in the learning mood....how bout my clutches? Is there anything I need to do to them as far as prevenitive or due to being submerged?

Seems like I'm getting a little rattling noise in that area.Is this the normal noise everyone is always talking about?I know I've got the motor running a little lower than normal at idle but I couldn't tell you at what rpm as I haven't got a new tach yet.

I typically have mine running at ~ 1600-1800 RPM. If you are hearing the rattle, move the idle up a bit. The rattle typically goes away at ~1600 rpm.
