Anyone have a cracked exhaust? If so, did you rush right out and get it fixed? I have an 07 attak GT, and have lots of riding plans for the next 2 weeks. I really don't want to send it out to the dealer, but wondering if anyone else has had the problem and how long did it take to get it fixed?

I have an 2006 attak and the exhaust has a leak. Probably donuts and possible y pipe. I am dropping at my local dealer (Jack and Jills in Midland, Ontario) tonight and they will have done for this weekend. That is great sevice.

Check with your dealer to make sure they have the parts before they tear it down. The y-pipes were on back-order the last I knew.

I cracked my Y pipe this season. If I didn't have the parts overnight delivered it would have been 2 weeks out.

pipes

Try the dealer in Ishpeming Mich. for a pipe. He had at least one a week ago. I got used RX1 pipes from him. The dealer in Marquette has a set of used RX1 pipes also. I got 2 pipes for $150, and paid $20 to Midas to add 2" to the length. Now I have pipes that won't crack, and can be welded. Titanium pipes are about $265 a piece.

I dropped my sled off on a Monday, for exhaust donuts, and it was ready by Friday afternoon - that includes them having to find, and order the parts from CA. Chippewa Motors rocks!

What year RX1 pipes? 03 and 04? Are these the stainless pipes? They are the same as the Apex pipes, just shorter?

I think Yamaha won't have pipes till March 3'

I got 03 pipes, but I think 04 were the same, and both stainless. Unless it is waranteed, I would go with stainless.

You can weld titanium. You have to use a titanium filler rod. As long as the crack is not right on the edge of the flare.

i heard an exhaust clamp rattling on start up so i checked them before they got bad and all i had to replace was 2 gaskets and grind the stops on the clamps to tighten them up,they must have really been bad for a while on the sleds that you guys say it broke the pipe, maybe you were in the middle of a big trip and couldnt stop but whenever i hear something like that i fix it before it gets too bad
