What exactly does the PC III do? I think I understand that it alters the F.I. specs and the air to fuel ratio for optimal performance. But what exactly is optimal performance, more h.p., better fuel efficiency? I know a lot of guys use them with heavy engine mods, what are the advantages on stock engines?

p.s. sorry if the seems like a dumb question, not exactly mechanically inclined, but i enjoy learning more, and am in the process of learning more. thank guys

You are correct it allows you to change the furl mapping across the rpm range from idle to WOT. I have run them and also Haucks version but unless you are modded or running grass or ice drags I don't think you will gain anything noticeable.

Remember if it was as easy as just changing the map to gain 10 hp don't you think they would do it from the factory rather than all the changes they had to make including re-alignment of valve angles, cam timing and the new exhaust flapper in the 2011.

I stroked an apex out to 1100 cc and played constantly with the settings. Everytime I though I gained something by the seat of the pants feel it proved wrong on the stop watch & radar. And if I was gaining on HP the clutching would have to be tuned to take advantage of it.

If you followed any of the debate on the yamacharger it also proved that a stock 150 hp genesis was only putting about 95 hp at the track. Which means if you even gain 3 hp mabe 2 of it is at the track. You change the map and don't change the air box, intake or throttle bodies and exhaust you are adding fuel but no additional air for it to mix with.

Just my experience.

95 hp to the track on a stock Apex is impressive. I never would have guessed it to be that good. No wonder it is hard to hook up a short track.
