What are peoples thoughts on power steering . anyone had one without and one with. how do they compare.

After riding a Vec with it I wish my 05 had it and my next sled will have it!

I have both,a venture gt with and an 09 vector without,it is so much better with eps,my next sled will also have eps, night and day,i havent driven any of the other brands 4 stroke for a while so would like to compare them to yamaha's eps,

My last sled was a 2006 Vector ER 121in track. It had the factory skis with woodys 6 inch duallys and was very easy to steer and no darting. The sled I have now is a 2013 VectorLtx 136in. I bought it used it has Kimpex Arrow skis with dually carbides, I do not find it easier to steer but my old one was so easy to steer. Anyways I find that the new one darts a little but will do more adjustments and if I still dont like it I will try the skis on it from my old sled.

Your eps must not work because the minute i drove the eps sled,i couldnt beleive it,it was obvious that all yammi 4 s should have that technology

+1 more!!!

I'm a high mileage rider... Steering and darting come from sled set up and can be "tuned" to the operator's liking ... The two places I notice my EPS is in the effort needed to turn sharp at low speeds... And here is the BIG 1... After I ride 300+ mile in one day I can wake up the next morning like I didn't even put a mile on the day before!!! No fatigue in the upper back!!!

My new ATV has power steering, wouldn't go back to one without it. I'm sure I would feel the same with a sled and maybe even more so, as put way more miles on the sled, and I'm not getting any younger.

Power steering and darting/handling are two different things.
I have only ridden newer sleds with power steering on the yearly Power Tours at one or more placed per year. In my opinion it eased the steering at low or slow speed only. The power tour sleds were the worst darting/ handling sleds I have ever ridden year after year. Made me feel sorry for the dealer. These sleds need to go to a knowledgeable dealer and get set up after every few tour stops
I'll try to explain:
At one tour ( there usually was a leader that lead us on mostly groomed trail and some cross country) a lady on a Apex with power steering stopped ahead of me and she was crying and said " I can't drive it, it's trying to throw me off" . I told her turn around and take it back.
Later I got a chance to ride it. Let me say it was very bad, the only way to drive it was to hang back and then pin it to get speed so as not to feel the darting.

Our 2 Rage's handle so much better and steer easy with after market skis. The stock skis would always dart or push, could never eliminate both. The reason I never upgraded till now.
Guess the reason I bought the new Viper is they never had one to drive in our country, it handles and does not dart with dual carbides.

"canadianhunter",My 06 Vector with SnowTrackers almost eliminates darting completely and makes it handle extremely well, and makes it a little easier to steer also. Just heavy steering takes it toll after 300-600 km days. A little stiff through the arms and shoulders the next day. An easier steering effort would be nice, probably true for almost any sled.

What I was trying to say that after my power tour only rides I could not see myself spending any money on the sleds I rode.
After each tour ride when things were fresh in my mind I went directly home and took my Rage around a 46 mile loop that we can ride from home. Mine due to set up was so much better. I'm sure set up would have made the power steering sleds as good, but would they have been better ?
I also rode other brands that were very good, the only negative was 2 stroke.

Power steering makes a hugh difference, but put on "SNOWTRACKERS CARBIDE RUNNERS" and you won't need power steering. The Arctic Cat Turbo Touring with Snowtrackers on it is just as easy to drive as my EPS Venture Gt.
