Check / adjust chaincase tensioner - change chaincase oil?
Drain carbs and clean & inspect pilot and main jets
Check driveshaft and driven shaft bearings on the clutch side and clean, repack with grease if needed
You could check the ski alignment too.
Did you inspect the primary clutch weights?

Yep, chaincase lube would be a good idea if you haven't changed it yet. Getting ready to do mine this weekend. Bought some Amsoil lube to try in it. Sounds like you're on the right track otter. I need to find out more about the driveshaft bearings. Have never even looked at 'em on mine.
Look all over for anything loose or damaged. I happened to grab my speedo yesterday and it seemed loose. I pulled it back to look behind it and it looks like all of the attaching screws but one has backed out on the back side.

If you have 6000miles or more you should replace both of them ,they will go with out warning and leave you stranded .It can also do allot of damage to the chain case .It happened to me .twomorestrokes said:Yep, chaincase lube would be a good idea if you haven't changed it yet.
