Pinnin' it!
I am running the 1.6 ice cobra on my winder. no protectors. hit bottom a few times. absolutely no evidence of any damage to anything in the tunnel.

Just installed one of theses on my sidewinder because a buddy has had one on his Apex and it still looks like new. These pics are with 750 miles on my IceRipper XT - WTF!!! I had over 5000 miles on my last one with zero issues. The conditions have been good, so I don't know what would cause this other than a defective track. I'm calling Tracksusa tomorrow to see how I get this warrantied. I'm hesitant to try the same version as they may have had a bad run. There are a boatload of the outside lugs missing on both sides.

Really like this free wheeling single ply track. Hope mine doesn't do that.

I hate to say this but I have seen a 1/2 dozen or more of these the past few years. Seems to only affect these ice series tracks on Cats and the new Yammi's.
It's my guess and only a guess that it is caused by ice build up in the tunnel edges. When the pre-molded studs catch the ice it tears up the lugs.
Just a guess and observation, but these sleds do build up with a lot of ice on the edges and the tracks never seem to get tore up in the center.
I like to spray the bottom of the tunnel and heat exchangers with silicone spray. This allows the snow and ice to drop off before it builds up to much and gets rock hard.

I could see this, but I had a lot of ice build up in the tunnel of my Apex and no damage in 5000+ miles. But weird that it does seem to only be the outside lugs.I hate to say this but I have seen a 1/2 dozen or more of these the past few years. I have had Apex's as well and yes they do build up with ice but it seems to be abroad the whole tunnel. Have pulled out big sheets of ice where the Winder and other Cats build up more just on the outside edges. Like I said just a guess but I have only seen this type of track damage on 2012+ Cats and newer 14+ YamaCats.

Here's some better pics of what happened. I think I counted 18 outside lugs missing. TracksUSA has been EXTREMELY helpful and we have a RMA# from Camso. Now I'll have to wait to see if Camso does honor their warranty. In the meantime, after discussions with Tony at TracksUSA I'm going back to a regular 2 ply Ripsaw II and 90 studs up the middle to start. This is proven durability. I didn't want to take the chance that I'm simply overpowering the IceRipper, but I suspect this was a defective track and I hope Camso agrees.

I had an ice attack on a Apex with at least 50 less HP and thought it was worthless. To each their own, I'll stick to this

Only 430 miles but my Ice Cobra looks brand new and I am liking the performance. Also no scratches anywhere in tunnel.
I'm hoping yours is a defect (no offense). We just had to tow one of our Apexes to the next hotel and Macgyver the crossover tube after losing all coolant from a throwing a stud.

I hope it was a defect too, but figured better to not take the chance of doing this all again.Only 430 miles but my Ice Cobra looks brand new and I am liking the performance. Also no scratches anywhere in tunnel.

Hmmm, you've got me checking my ice buildup now as I have an Ice Attack XT on my LTX-LE. 600 miles so far, no problem. But today I checked and hadn't realized how much ice build up this sled packs on. Thanks for the heads up. Keep us posted if they cover it under warranty.

That track looks horrible!! I have had 3 of these tracks and installed 3 more for others and have never seen that. I like these tracks for trail riding. Too many rides ruined by ripped studs through the front exchanger. I haven't seen anything good about the Cobra for trail riding on high horsepower sleds, the lugs fold over after @1000 miles and begin to tear. The Camso rep talked me out of a 1.6 ice cobra on my turbo viper for this reason.......................

That's not a Cobra track. Cobras are OEM on some SW models. Mine is not 1000 miles but looks great so far. Not worried.

I know this is an old post but i have to ask, does that track still hook up the same using the stud pattern backwards? I know scratch lines are scratch lines but wouldn't it hook up better putting the v pattern forward as per templatesI had an ice attack on a Apex with at least 50 less HP and thought it was worthless. I had an ICERIPPER on an Apex. - do not use the word hook up for a pre studded track. Better tracking on icy trails for Turns or braking and acceleration a bit does not HOOK ever just less slide and spin slightly. My New er Apex is 144 studs as I wanted some Hook up
