pretty sure the 91 rating is to a European standard which is the equivilent of 87 in North America.

Our pumps in NY have 87, 89 , 91 or 93
Don't remember any "91" from living in Ireland.

from my manual :
Your Yamaha snowmobile engine has been designed to use premium unleaded gasoline with a pump octane (R+M/2) of 91 or higher

It's a 91 octane "recommended" engine unlike some other engines that are 91 "required". Yamaha says 87 can be used if 91 isn't avalible but there may or may not be a loss of performance with 87. About 70% of my miles are on 87 E10, but I will use 91 "pure" gas if its under 30 cents difference in price as I do notice 1-2mpg better mileage and a touch more squirt with 91 Dino gas

I've always run 89........... it's in the middle and had no problems beating the Irish Redneck on the 91 octane, carrying more weight than him
Were you all out in our little race last night? LOL

I'd also imagine pushing the extra 15" track weight would reduce my top end?
