With the newer sleds having the gripper sharp edges on the outside of the tunnels how do you keep your cover from tearing from rubbing when trailering or in the back of a pick up? I use my pickup to transport my sled but want to always use my cover, :4STroke: I am looking for ideas.
Thanks Blue

I never had a problem with the factory cover, just ensure it's good and tight and the edges of the cover are over the ends of the running boards.

I have used the same cover on both my 2007 & 2011 Apex in the back of the pickup with zero problems.

put some automotive plastic conduit around the edges. easy on, easy off....

I run Factory cover also, only tears toward the back buy last strap on both side's. I must just drive crazy fast or maybe against the wind all the time...LOL Good idea about the conduit, I put a peice of trailer wire flex conduit over that area already on my cover to finish last year. I am going to have some extra materal added to the cover in that area since I need to get it repaired anyway. :-o

Better yet, you can use is a piece of the foam pipe insullation that they sell for your water pipes.

Tight, tight, and more tight. I have never had an issue with any of my sleds and they spend 10 hours at 75 mph every weekend.

How are you hooking your rear straps? I only ask because I have seen them rip when guys go straight down to the slide rail, instead of at more of an angle and hooking in the track window. Just a thought.

Straight line to a track window. Not down or to the back. On my old doo I hooked them together.

I have a apex LTX 136" track and hook the rear straps to rear wheels and always tight at a good angle. once again this is a factory cover. pipe Foam insulation idea is awesome.... thanks gone blue! :jump:

My sled cover developed very small tears in the front where the front shock adjustable clickers are located. I took the cover to the local seamstress and had them stitch a heavy cloth material where the tears developed.

on this same note is anyone getting a rash in their hood fron the cover is there a fix?

I have always covered the hood with a soft blanket prior to putting on the cover to prevent cover rash. Some covers come with liner to prevent just that but a old soft blanket works too.

thanks is there a way to get rid of the rash once you got it?

I used a swirl remover on a random orbital waxer followed up with wax. Worked great!
