A buddies Nytro got hit by another sled. The spindle from the other sled made contact with the primary shattering it A nd taking out the stub shaft bearing. Took stub shaft assembly apart and checked run out of the shaft which was .0015". Replaced the bearing and seal and checked assembly run out again which was .007". Put a used primary on and we are getting .060 - 0.080" run out on the clutch. It looks like the main shaft of the replacement clutch is bent. Has this ever happened to anyone? What could be the issue if the clutch is not the issue? We are going to pull my Nytro clutch and put it on this sled to see if it is the clutch or not.

turns out our machinist is not so good at checking run-out apparently. after scratching our heads on this one I decided to just pull the stub shaft assembly out of my Nytro and try it in the sled we were fixing. Sure enough the stub shaft assembly was the problem. It is bent bad but our machinist told us it only had 0.0005" run-out. I guess he should wear his glasses and not drink heavily before doing a run-out check. Found a used stub shaft assembly locally and now have the sled back together and running great. Now it needs to be fogged and put away for the summer as I am sure we wont get any more snow worth riding on until next season.
