Pro skid in nytro

Thanks mike. I was wondering because I just did a float swap on my xtx. The pro looks to line up much better.

This is my xtx skid vs crossfire skid.

OTM, I dropped the front and pushed both the front and rear back. The rear is about the same height.

Hey Beeze,

Nikolai did the same install on his 144, and he liked the results. I'll be curious to see how you like yours.

What weight saving are you going to get? I never weighed the xtx skid, but its gotta be hefty.

I just weighed the pro mountian '11 MTX skid and it is exactly 60 lbs, so an 8lb improvement over the 09 MTX but still pretty far from the Cat and Timbersled at 45 and 38 respectively.

I'm going to get the thread going here in the next couple of weeks. Once all the pieces are made....

BDX chromoly arms drop another 5 lbs if you want to lose more "easy" weight down the road. Dealer price on the BDX arms is below $400 so they aren't bad if you can find someone to give you a deal.

Beeze.

I've got good news for you and bad news for me. Judging by our use of bathroom scales, you are 5 pounds lighter that you think....and I'm 5 pounds heavier!

At 71, the xtx skid is even heavier than the 09 MTX 153 I had at 68....and even if our scales are off a bit, who cares, that's heavy.

One thing I was going to mention is that if you bought your XF skid used, have a close look for cracks at the holes up front at the radius of the rails. I have a set off a 2008 XF and there are hair line cracks. I am not even sure if the holes are stock as my M skid doesn't have them in the same position.

Oh yeah, did you pick up any snow yesterday in ME? We got around 12 inches in the am and one of my friends was able to get his first run in today....all 15 kilometers, but at least his meter is running!

This looks very interesting!

I can't make a decision between AC skid or a used Timbersled... and now this to confuse me even more :)

So, what do you guys think, how does the math work if I take a 146" Polaris skid (maybe from ASSAULT) and try to fit it with MTX factory holes and a 153" track? Close enough to be a "drop-in"?

Thanks!

146 would be nice if it all works & be able to stick with 153 or 156 track. has anybody put one in or took measurements.i have a 155 skid but was not that interested in putting a 162 track on it for the ridding i do

will 146 rails work on my 155 skid that i have, cause i think the 155 rails are bent

I have a couple questions on this skid swap.

How many pounds did this end up shaving?

Are the mounting points for a stock 08 MTX the same as the ones in this thread?
Not sure what year this sled is?

Did it improve the approach angle?

Did it change under tunnel clearance for use of under tunnel exhaust?

Are you able to run a 2.5" paddle with this set up?

How does this skid compare to the A/C float skid. Weight? But mainly performance speaking?

I was thinking about doing a 153 A/C float skid but i dont know if i can knowing how easy this looks and sounds.

I also would like to know how the pro skid is working. I know I have a timbersled and it performs well in the powder but it just does not allow the wheelie affect I have always enjoyed.
