I am trying to remove the chaincase from my RX1 ER for the first time to change my track. Removed brake and e-brake assemblies. Disconnected reverse linkage from pivot. Removed 5 housing bolts plus 10mm bolt in the center of housing. Outer collar removed from shaft. Was able to slide the outer housing out a half inch then the bearing jammed on the shaft. Emeried the shaft down and can now get the housing out to 1 inch from end of the shaft but the bearing is jamming bad - sure seems like that is the problem anyway. Can't get it to move out any further. Removing the outer housing should be simple. Anyone run in to this before or know a work-around?

Appreciate any insight.

There a pain to get off, rubber hammer and work it off. You could push it back amd oil the shaft may help a bit.

Push down on your reverse linkage at the bottom of the chaincase. If that doesn't work...pull up. It is the fork catching on the lower gear reverse catch. I had the same prob this fall when I was doing a track change. I thought my bearing was jammed, but that wasn't the case.

Make sure your linkages are totally disconnected so the linkage at the bottom can move freely. It should just pop right off.
