the last couple times out when i go from quick transitions from throttle to brake there is a snapping sound coming from the chaincase.(only when i hit the brake) i just checked the tension on the chain seemed ok 3/4 turn out. i readjusted to about 1/2 turn. dont think that is the problem. could the reverse be causing the snapping? i do know it needs to be adjusted,it grinds every now and again. anyone else have these symptoms? there is only 2800 miles on the machine. 2006 er.

I have 06' Gt, never adjusted reverse yet, never heard a snapping noise either. 6,500 miles. I would adjust reverse and see if that helps. wish I could hear the sound, its hard to diagnose, not alot of things in the chaincase that would seem to make a snapping sound, other than a loose chain slapping on the chaincase. check driveshaft bearing on both sides, try moving it see if there is any play. check your track make sure it is not to loose, slipping on the cogs, but that does not make snapping sound either.
