just did some summer service on the sled, replaced the buttons on the secondary, replaced both bushings in the secondary , cleaned all the parts, helix, sheaves etc. replaced the belt. now the secondary clutch is having problems rebounding after running the sled on the track stand. anyone have any ideas. just wondering if its having problems rebounding because everything is so clean and not worn in yet. hopefully the problem will fix itself after the first ride when the snow hits.

Did you make sure to set the spring and preload the same as when you took it off?

Before installing the clutch on the sled, did the sheaves mate up smoothly without any binding? Also be sure that you twist the helix clockwise to preload the spring and in the proper holes.

cleaned all the sheaves, wet sanded the shaft on the clutch 2000 grit, very smooth now, does not seem to be binding, one problem, when I cleaned the sheave on the engine side I must have rubbed off the numbers on the metal, I cannot find the number , I think the stock clutch setting is 6 on the helix and 1 on the sheave but I have no way to confirm the setting because the number is worn off the sheave side. I just found a good setting 3 on the helix and about a 30 deg clockwise turn to set the preload. I marked the helix with a marker before I took it apart. I know it was at 6, not sure about the other sheave, I tried the hole that looked most worn, but it was way too tight, I could not get the helix back on at that setting , It was way too tight. might have to play around with it until I get the settings just right.
