Project: Phazer MTX "facelift"

I have made "testjigg" to be able to test the hight of the spindle to get minium change of camber during damping. And I can also change the hight of the mountingposition of the tierod to minium bumpsteer

You're working on so many different projects at the same time ... when do you get any sleep?

Are you going to make new spindles to go with the A-arms?

Not that you need another project for this sled, but have you thought about any engine mods? With the changes you've made to the seat frame, I would think that you might consider some changes to the exhaust as well. How 'bout a doughnutless header for starters?!

I am working on diffrent projects due that I am waiting for stuff...so I have to work where I can :)

Yes I am planning to make new spindles...are just waitng for an anglefinder that I ordered on ebay so I can get the geometry right first.

No plans for the engine..I have talked with some "Yamaha guys" about turbo but there seems to be problems with many Phazers with turbo so I will not go for that

After som testing this was tha maxium anglechange uppto 95% of the stroke of the damper...just before the damper bootomsout it reached 0,5deg

Like this the design of the new spindle became when I have change it according to the new measurements :)

Based on your photos, the angle of the threaded rod from lower-to-upper A-arm (caster?) looks fairly steep. How tall will the new spindles need to be made?

The sled is higher in the front than during normal driving position. That´s why it seems so steep in the pics.

The caster is 24 deg ( Skinz Concept I think has 24,7 deg)

The height of the spindel is about 300mm and the original is about 275mm

Just another dumb question (ya I know, I'm full 'em) ...

Seems every snowmobile spindle I see is designed with its spindle tabs perpendicular to the spindle axis. To me, this doesn't makes sense because the spindle is actually mounted to the A-arms in some degree of caster, which then places the spindles tabs at a downward angle, decreasing the clearances for the heim joint that attaches to the tie-rod. Why not design the spindle tabs to be more horizontal when the spindle is in its intended caster so that the movement of the tie-rod ends are not as limited through the available suspension travel?

The problem is that if you make them more horizontally when driving straight forward there will be a very steep angle upwards when you turn and the suspension is compressed...

And the horizontal distance between the a-arm and the connectionpoint for the tierod will change when you turn...and that you don´t want it to do

The only phazer i've seen worth 20k Nice build, thumbs up to your hard work
