My '06 Apex RTX came with a Proline clutch kit installed. Is this a decent clutch kit? I was hoping it was good and don't need to get anything different. Otherwise, What in your opinions is the best clutch kit/set up for this sled? Thanks.

Run stock clutching with a white secondary spring and a 40 bottom (or 23 top) gear. This setup will outperform the Proline kit on any surface. Been down that road before.

Also lighten up the stock weights and replace the inner and middle (stock 4.6G) holes with 3.6g of revit weights and leave the tip stock. That will bring you to 10,500-10,600 out of the hole and pull harder midrange.

You will always get different opinions on this. I love the proline setup. If you have GOOD TRACTION it will rip. That being said, the stock clutching is very, very good on this sled.

clutching
Thanks for the input. I figured I'd get varied opinions. The sled is studded (unsure of how many, but at least 144.) I'm more of a top end guy myself, but do want to get out of the hole good. Next question then may have been answered already, but what gear setting then? Is it better to change top or bottom? or both?

Re: clutching
I would go with the 23 top gear which is what comes standard on the Attak. You will gain acceleration without loosing top-end since the stock 24 gear is too high.

Re: clutching
If you want top end, then nothing beats the stock clutching. Run the 23 top gear. 23/38 is what you need to run.

Helix
Anybody know what the angle is on the dalton helix that comes with the proline kit, it is stamped 02NB if anybody knows or has measured it.
Thanks
