Riding a stock '07 Apex Mtn. power is good in stock form for boondocking & steep/deep but once in a while I need a little more HP. As far as I know, I rarely am at full throttle. Is NOS a reasonable way to get the HP? Adding a turbo, super, and Yama charger would require investing < $5g for a little boost. Would NOS give me a better return on investment? Heard comments that NOS is bad for motor, but I'd rather not kill my motor. Pros & cons, thanks.

I have ran nitrous on many sleds. Its safe if you set it up right but is a pain in the butt for mtn riding.Unless your at drag races where you can keep changing your bottle.
When you run boost you usually lose about 2lbs of boost going up from elevation to high altitude.
The yamacharger works great at sea level but it only makes 2lbs so I don't think you would gain much if you ride at higher altitudes because there is no way of turning up the boost or puting a boost compensater on.
Check snowest it seems like used supercharger and turbos pop up quite frequently.

Thanks, I'd appreciate more pros & cons in the same area that I ride in bc like you said, elev HA vs SL give different rides. I should had said where I go which is Wyoming 6000-9000 elev. I'd like to hear from anyone who's ridden in the same areas with NOS?
I don't do full throttle bc the midrange does the job, but I would like to be able to have enough power when I get into bad situations - dig out vs. NOS/power out. I'm looking for something that will work for a couple of seconds to give me enough power, like in a bowl and almost to the top and oompth. Will NOS help me out or is it a waste? Is NOS a good alternative?
I'm also checking Snowwest.

Had Nos on a few sleds and would not do it again, not for regular riding.
To much messing with bottles and not enough power gain for what you are
looking for------- then when you realy need it your out.
If you do a big shot you have to clutch for it, then clutching is of when running without Nos. ( always low on RPM )
The best part about Nos was on the old MM700 when it would load up at altitude you could clean the engine with the nos button and keep going at max RPM and on the pipe. I did keep it for that on that sled , it would not use much Nos as I was only shooting about 10HP for a fraction of a second just to keep the engine running clean when hot and high.this is a none issue with a fuel injected engine

I think you would get a much better performance improvement with a new rear suspension vs any power adders.
NOS would be bad in the situation you describe. I ran it on my RX1 and it was a PITA and you had to 'prep' for it when I wanted to use it. Like you I thought about when I hit a lake I could use it and blast away from everyone and it rarely ever worked like that.
If you need more power look into other mods, best bang for your buck is a blower but its a lot of bucks.
