obviously this clutch is different AND the smaller diameter roller could lend to the ability of the weight to sneak past
Hmm, that’s a thought. I know Lonn sells a specific newer set of HH’s for the Winder, unless the guy had a set of HH weights from a previous Yamaha sled and put them in his SW. That could explain things.

I agree 100% on the muffler,to much heat and to restricted on SM with tunes.Guys, my experience with SM PT was that I lost measurable top end compared to SQ PT.
I would at least go with the stock modified muffler. Just sayin.

Yup,that SQ td muffler may be just the ticket with max 17 and CAI,and like you I carry torco or lucas, cheap enough,i only got in trouble last weekend in Limestone maine, the store had three grades, but only 87 up and running,so I just took 3 gals, and it mixed well with the 93 I run, most of the time. Funny thing is a lot of the stations that used to run 93,now are only handling 90 none ethel, and they clain its same octane as 93,i don't buy it,do you?My 5 cents:
Max 17 is at way better on fuel than ecotrail.
I only want to go up in power, never down.
Get to gas pump I suspect has bad gas, I'm not going to tune down, then change weights in the parking lot while my buddies call me a fool. I carry two cans of torco in tunnel bag....quicker to dump full bottle into tank of 87 and keep on truckin!!
I have stock mod muffler, SQ, and OSP Racing (same as turboflow) and SQ is my favorite by far.
I always send my ecu in summer. Sled ain't moving, shops are slow and discounts available.
When I'm in an old age home and a CNA is wiping my #*$&@, I'll be happy that I that I did not tune my sled as now the state has more money to rob from me.......NOT!!!
Go big or go home!!!

yep - at least 92 but as long as u dont hammer it wide open for over 500 feet or so - its fine to run 87 if u have to - just dont race anyone. if the motor dosent like it - itll turn timing down - u guys r too paranoid but get it...

Exactly. And the knock lite lets you know visually, and pulls timing auto.yep - at least 92 but as long as u dont hammer it wide open for over 500 feet or so - its fine to run 87 if u have to - just dont race anyone. if the motor dosent like it - itll turn timing down - u guys r too paranoid but get it...
I ran my sled on 240 and 270 entire Qc trip on 87 octane, Never saw a lite as I did not hold it WOT for more then a few seconds. Roll into it quite hard, run it all day long on those super highways at speeds of 70 to 100mph.
Guys who do not have knock lite, dont get it....its all about HOLDING IT WOT. The knock lite is what makes these tunes and this entire setup superior.

I was working at the local Yamaha dealer when the 2002 SRX came out with the knock light. What a fantastic feature.
However, you wouldn't believe how often guys would call me and ask "how do I unhook this damn knock light, it keeps flashing and pulling timing".

Only way to go with a flash, unless you have deep pockets for a rebuild. No way I’d run one without.

I don' buy into it either. Guy at gas station tried to tell me 91 ethanol free better than 93 with ethanol.
As much as I hate ethanol, I'll take the higher octane everytime.
