Pump gas HP #s for Apex Supercharger

It won't matter whether your turbo is exhaust or belt driven, the grin factor will still be there.
Amen brutha... Plenty of choices out there for the 4-Stroke Yammie boys.

"Life is better under pressure"..... :4STroke:

Here's how i see it. Octane rating is base on comppression ratio, fuel delivery, and timing. The key factor is how low you can go and maintain good throttle response. The lowest comppression you can run and still maintain good throttle response .

9.41 to 1 = 3 head gaskets ---.090th
9.11 to 1 = .080th head shim with two outer layers from head gasket ---.100th
9.05 to 1 = 2 head gaskets and 10 to 1 pistons

mc-xpress has determined a safe base kit with 3 head gaskets, 12 psi, proper fuel delivery, pump fuel and yielding 260hp.
Lets say MPI can put me a kit together like this, stage II for $1,000 more than stage I, would you pay stage I $5,000 for 50hp.gain, or $6,000 for 100hp.gain, pump gas, if they can great, and if they can't mc-xpress is. doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. mc-xpress kit is $5,400US and can be upgraded to 300hp race gas,or 330hp race gas, piston kit.
gotta ask yourself does the kit your buying give you that.

Just got off the phone with Al at MPI. They have completed all dyno runs for the stageI SC for the 2006 Mountian Apex. He said they got 242hp at 10lbs boost. And this is with pump gas!! He said the kits will be shipped out within the next two weeks to customers. I also asked him about the stock injectors and he said even though the part# changed they are the same as the prototype they tested with in the summer. I just wish my sled would get here so I can bolt this thing on.

Per Superabe (page 1 of this post)
200 hp on premium fuel with no engine modifications. 240 hp with 50/50. These numbers are not requirments as much as they are recommendations that we have choosen for liability reasons and are way with in the safty margines. Now this doesn't mean that you can't run 240 hp (10 psi) on premium as lots of people do, it only means that we cannot guarantee that it will not be an issue in some extreme situation.

Per Al (phone call)

There will be no pump gas Stage-II kits offered

I don't know who to believe anymore. Al at MPI said one thing you guys say another. There is sooooo much uncertainty with HP# and fuel requirements with the SC. I thought for sure the SC was the ticket, but I only seem to get straight consistent answers from the companys selling turbos. FRUSTERATED!!!!

I agree, I'm tired of the polished politician answers. Read post: 4 stroke snowmobiles-perfect for turbos.

Why not? Low comp piston's (or thick spacer plate), Pump gas @14lb's of boost easy!!

I would not run 10 lbs with stock motor on premium fuel, you may get away with it for a while but it will eat a piston, mix alittle race fuel and no problems, thats with a tc or sc. of course I would not run 10 lbs period I like it at 18 lbs.

I would hate to be stuck at 10 p.s.i. The thicker headgasket mc express supplies is only a few hrs extra work . Then with good gas I'll be able to crank up the boost to 16 comfortably. The mcexpress kit gives you 4 extra injectors for a total of 8 - that makes me feel better about fuel delivery .

From my experience of driving turbo Rx1 MT's, I found that 8 to 10lbs with time is boring, They seem to really come alive at 12lbs. which is the basement for MCX. I do not want to be lock in on one fuel source," race gas" :There will be no grandpa stage I in my skid frame.

Can someone make a timing master similar to what supercharged cars use.

On our SC mustang, we have a dial that we can decrease timing as manifold presure increases.
