I have the Fox QS3 shocks on my Viper and I run entirely on groomed trails on the #1 setting but I would like a little softer feel to them but retain some control on the fast dips. Has anyone tried the DSC adjusters from Fox. I like the idea of having separate high and low speed adjustments. Also the dual rate springs from Hygear look like a sweet setup. Up here in Canada I'm looking at $800 cnd to have the DSC adjusters and dual springs installed on the front end. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I'd like to know the answer also. I'm thinking about getting the dual rate springs as well or biting the bullet and going elka.

The springs would help and keep the benefit of simple adjustment as long as they are correct. The Hi/Lo adjusters are not quick to adjust but once you find the sweet spot there is no comparison I have ever ridden. I take pride in adjusting my shocks and admit fully it took me almost half a season of tweaking to get the Hi/Lo just perfect but at least the ability is there and once done you will not be adjusting your shocks anymore ever. Small bumps or 3+ ft it does not matter. If adjusted correct they are plusher than QS3 on 1 but still take the big 3ft Moguls. That's where the advantage is. I have not had to adjust my shocks for 2 seasons.

Sounds like this is what I'm looking for. I just need to find the aluminum IFP now and I can rebuild these shocks.

Well cannondale27 you just helped me to make up my mind to go for the springs and DSC adjusters. Am I in for a surprise when the shocks get modified due to plastic pistons or am I ok on my 2016 LTX LE model?

I have the same sled as you and mine are plastic. Noticed that when I revalved them last year.

The aluminum piston is in all the older Fox and ACT shocks from Cat. Get the ones that have a bleed screw in them also.
Great, thanks for the info! I'll be sourcing out parts between now and winter. Hygear usually comes to the Toronto Snowmobile show in October, might save some shipping if they bring what I need with them.

hellflyer, I always go to the Toronto show also, Sure would like to meet a fellow TYer in person. Maybe we can meet up and have a chat.

Sounds good! I always go to the show. We'll have to start a thread before the show if there isn't one started already in October. I met a few guys last year because I wore my ty shirt.

I have 500miles on my leftover 16 I picked up at end of season. I find on 1 that it doesn't have enough rebound control or something the front bounces around. On 2 it is much more controlled but stiff .I have my spring adjusters backed off. Will this help me get the plush ride I'm looking for ? Overall they are pretty good but looking for better. Is this available for the rear shock ? I find the rear worse than the front . Ive ridden a 137" with base shocks and that rides MUCH better through stutters , and its not the few extra inches of track length that's doing that.
Has anybody revalved the center shock on these or changed the center spring on a 16 ? its not a QS3 at that position

I softened the rebound on mine and the low speed a d is great on the wash board stuff, just not great for bottoming on the big stuff. My front end is loosened off so when I'm on it its its almost level!

Just adding in another option. Check out monster performance. I put a set of their shocks in my skid and was blown away how much better it was. Dual rate, compression and rebound adjustable, appear to be solidly built. Their recommended settings for my weight was about perfect. The guy who made the haygear shocks left and made monster... The price was also better. My only regret is not replacing my front floats, yet....
