Have been to Quebec every year since 1996 except this year. Could find not one to ride with. My group has slowly given up.
There is no better place in the world I know of than Quebec to ride. I have been just about everyplace once, many places twice. We like to park in Val D'Or and saddle bag it. The Gaspie is also a great place to go.

Oh yeah, I must agree! The best trails that I have ever been on are in Quebec region ! I have been spoiled by our State O' Maine County trails until I visited Quebec, just fabulous !! Until you experience them it is hard to imagine trails like that...

Were do I start? The grooming is fantastic and helped by the fact that the trail traffic is a lot lower than where we ride. Also the cooperation of the local towns an cities towrd the sport is impressive. In most places you can travel just about anywhere you need to get to within reason without police up your arse. The trails are well marked, the maps are up to date. And don't forget the DANSUES! Nowhere else can you park you truck and do a 6 day round robin ride and enjoy it. Most of the time we see very few riders except in the evening or at lunch stops. I will say that the vehicle theft issue is very real but have not had first hand experience with it. Also the closer you go to the tourist traps the remoteness and conditions are not as well. I am speaking of places like Le Cabanon. Avoid, Avoid.. We perfer Val d'Or or Mt. Laurier or Riviere-du-Loupe, as a starting point.

I agree that it is probably the best place to trail ride. Trails are great and hospitality is great even with the language barrier. There are a couple of french speaking guys in our group so that helps. I've ridden most areas and I think my favorite is the Gaspesie.

Actually I have been there so much I have learned enough French to order food, ask directions, and get my point accross to the Dansues...... I have made friends in both Quebec and Ontario that have developed into long term friendships which I value. Once again the only negative is the theft issue and believe me, I have heard the horror stories of guys getting their truck, trailer, and sleds stolen while on the way up stopped for lunch.. Also most of the local police are disinterested in attacking this issue, but I have not had any issues with police personally, mostly because I obey the law when I am in town. Out on the trials it's a different story. If you have ridden there you know what I mean.

We did the Gaspesie This year and one of our guys got a ticket for riding to far to the left on a mile long straight away. We were told the cops were there doing radar and went buy at the speed limit. I guess they had to dream up something, but still a scam.
