Received my Gen III's today. The instructions mention that you should not offset the skis with the spacers. Are they talking about the spacers that adjust ski stance? If this is the case, how would you set the skis? Right now, I'm running I believe the standard stance which is the longer spacer on the inside and shorter on the outside. Thanks all.

I think you go back 1 space if you are off trail riding.

spacers
i have the gen 2's and i believe what you're talking about is the span between you're skis if i understand correctly i have mine set with the long spacer on the inside to narrow the overall distance i believe that this helps in the boon docking and deep stuff. the wider spacer on the outside helps with trail and hill climbing stability. anyway you look at it there way better than stock skis. have fun and enjoy the skis

The exact instruction is, "We strongly discourage off-setting the mounts with spacers as this adversely affects the balance of the ski". Not really sure what they are talking about.

Try the skis out a few times. Each time space the skis differently. See which way you prefer and compliments your riding style.
I think because of the design of there dual keel ski they want the ski centered to put the right amount of pressure down. If you would offset the ski you do have a slight flex and one keel will work more then the other and not stay as planted.

I called Hope at simmons this morning. Sounds like, as long as you have the spacers on each side of the spindle, you should be fine. With the stock skis I have played with moving the spacers to see which fits my riding. Currently I run with short spacer on the outside with the longer on the inside, which I believe is stock? Hope said that you can do that with the gen III's. Just don't put all spacers on inside or on outside.
