Anyone live in this area? I currently live near Green Bay, WI but moving to the Benton Harbor area next week.

I can see from the MI trail maps that it's pretty sketchy that far south, looks like a person needs to get about an hour north to hit a bigger part of the trail network. I'm not planning on bringing my sled with me this winter but curious if anyone lives there and what the real situation is on the ground, what typical winters are like, etc. Between moving, starting a new job, finding a place to live, and getting settled it looks like I'm going to miss a great winter for the most part :o|

Call Mark at Coloma Powersports Yamaha and do bring your sled
look at fishweb.com good riding down there , well I mean better than nothing , join the Edwardsburg snowmobile club , or the club in Gobles , tri the cal haven trail but watch the curfew , eat at the keeler keg or lunkers.

best

I'd like to bring my sled but right now I don't have a place. Not sure yet if I'll be in apartment or house. Going to be staying with a friend for a few weeks until I find something. If I have the time I definitely will. Thanks for the leads.

When the snow is here there is good riding. Just got to be ready to go NOW when it flies. Galien will get you about 70 miles. That connects to indiana and can get another 100 or so out of that. Niles, Edwardsburge, Coloma, South Haven, Vandalia, and beyound. Can easliy do 200 plus days and have many times. Keeler is going thru changes and heard the food is not the best right now but cant confirm that. Indianan lake pub has crazy hours now. Think they are only open a couple days a week. If your not on johndee.com get on there also. I usually post and see more post for that area on there. Plenty of sled heads hear I bet within a day or two you could find someones house to drop a sled at till you get on your feet.

My parents have a summer home about 5 miles south of Bloomingdale which is NE of Benton Harbor. The whole area is in a lake effect belt and can get quite a bit of snow at times. Like dab102999 said use it when they get it because it doesn’t usually stick around for long lengths of time. From where we are I catch the Kal-Haven trail and regularly ride into South Haven and up through and around Allegan. They groom when the conditions allow and the trails aren’t that bad. Definitely bring the sled once you figure out your living arrangements.

Thanks for the information guys. It's been snowing like crazy since I've been here lol. I'm looking forward to some riding when I get the chance!

Reviving this thread.. Any other members from SW Michigan? I trailered from Bridgman to the marathon station on M-140 and rode to Paw Paw and back. 97 miles, trailers were in fair condition. I was riding solo so I took it slow and easy. Still looking for riding partners in the area :)
