I am wondering if anyone here uses a tank bag on their warrior or rx1. I bought a tank bag from the dealer and it has velcro mounting near the tunnel. The yami catalog shows snaps near the tunnel, but the part numbers are the same.
what is the deal? This one doesnt seem to fit very well either. Give me your .02.

I have a yamaha tank bag as well, it does have the snaps on the tunnel. Putting something in between the tank and the bag, does not sound like a bad idea, however I have 4000 miles on my rx-1, and its had the tank bag since new. I just took the bag off, and the tank still looks like new. Could just be I was lucky.

I have tank bags on both a RX1 and an apex. The RX1 has snaps and fits like a glove. The apex was velcro and also fits well , maybe you have one for a apex. One thing is for sure ,you need one on an RX1 cause there aint any storage

you aint kiddin on the "no storage"! What was yami thinking when they did this. I could have sworn I saw a thread on here a while back about someone modifying their seat and making a trunk, but I cant find it.

cool idea on using the tshirts.... I was thinking of buying some thin fleece and having it sewn right on under the whole thing. Either way I think it would be smart to do something. Thanks for all the input.

The original version of the tank bag had snaps. After the apex bags came out with velcro they updated the rx-1 bags to velcro too. I use a thin layer of felt material cut to shape under the tank bag to protect the paint finish.
Are you sure that style isnt for the Apex?
I have snaps for the rx1.
Actually if you wanted to trade, I would trade you. I now own an Apex.

I really thought I had the wrong one, but the part # on the packaging and the yami catalog match so it must be right. I guess srxtwins must be right.

I have the RX1 tank bag. Works great...the velcro at the top of the tank tore off the first cold day.
Removed it, folded the tabs under. Haven't had a problem with it not being attached at the top over a few thousand kms.

The back of the seat bag works good too...though it took some weirdness to get it to attach on a mtn.
