Couple questions for the guys that have had good results with these, Putting these on the other night noticed had to shim the rubber to rest up to the spindle bottom, Should you shim the back or front of rubber, resulting in ski tip down or tip up under no weight. Did anyone have to pull the reinforcing inserts inside of ski saddle, and move these to the outside to gain enough room to drop the spindle down inside the saddle. I'm using the rubber that came from Skidoo for these skis.

I put 6.9`s on my XTX shortly after I bought it on 09, I used the Ski-Doo ZX chassis rubbers, did not remove or change any of the ski bushings(although most people say you have to!) I found the easiest way was to lower the sled onto the ski and bolt it up.

without revearsing the reinforcing bushings that go thru the skis it was to tight, not snug, tight to the point of flexing the plastic. They are on just not sure about the rest. thanks

generally when you shim you shim the back of the rubber so you ski tip will go up. a ski tip pointing down will cause darting...

I just installed my 6.9's tonight and yes they were tight. I used the slydog rubbers that I got from ulmers and it fit right in with no modifications.

Pilot skis

I installed pilots on mine and reused the stock yamaha rubbers. I inserted two grooves (front/back) into the bottom side of each rubber that allow the rubbers to sit over the plastic ridges in the ski cradle. Holds the rubber in place and keeps the ski tips up at the same level as with my stock yammie skis.

just got my 6.9 pilots installed
