Shimming the skis.

Re: To shim or not before I even ride teh sled?

I looked at the wear bars on my Apex as it is sitting on the garage floor currently. There is only a section of the wear bar at the rear, about 3 inches that is off the ground, the rest is sitting right on the ground(these are the original bars, will be changing to some Woody's 6").

My question is, would I be better to wait until I mount the Woody's bars and/or ride the sled before I experiment with the shims?

I've never seen a Yamaha that wouldn't benefit from shimming the skis. Also - several of the early season riders report darting. I shimmed mine first thing.

I did both, shim and Dooly's on my 03...Tracked like you wouldn't believe Don't forget to check the toe out too as the factory allows up to 5/8 of a inch 8)
