Rad blowing off coolant

I feel really bad for you having gone through this myself. After the rad was replaced the first time it was in April. I flushed the system all summer, at least 20 times and had the dealer tights replaced the rad flush it again before the season the next year and full it back up and it still rotted the new rad. If I had the system filled and it was say 20f out side and it sat in the barn and it got to 40f if I took the cap off it would blow the coolant out like crazy.

Now you guys are scaring me. I've got an 08 with original coolant in it. Was getting ready to drain it and replace with new in a few weeks but starting to wonder if I should just leave it.

If it helps I'm running Polaris 50/50 in it now with no issues for over a year.

One thing Yamaha told me was that you also can't mix green and blue Yamaha coolant.

I didn't realize I didn't update this thread.

MY rad was blocked very similar to pics on first page of this thread, flushed system several times, replaced rad and ran fine all season.

For some reason I cannot upload pictures, get a file too big error.

Thanks for the update. This once again reinforces the importance in servicing the cooling system periodically.

Agree DO NOT MIX blue coolant with any other color. Blue is what we should be using, aluminum friendly.
