Pulled the sled from its summer nap to bring into the garage. Let it run outside up to temp before I pulled it into the shop. Looking it over I noticed at least 90% of the radiator fins are bent right over and closed up. Now last ride of the season was mealy snow and I was right up the guy leading #*$&@. I was getting pelted pretty good with ice pellets so I'm figuring that's what did it. Anybody else notice this?

Did your dealer forget the radiator protector? (diamond shaped metal cover) Mine did and I went and retrieved it and put it on. Without it the snow will tear up a radiator.

I do have the expanded metal cover on it. But it's right flush on the radiator. Seems like it would have to be spaced off the radiator to actually do something. I've got one of those radiator combs somewhere that I'll try to straighten it out with next time I'm home. I'll get some pics first.

I noticed that on a demo sled that only had 400 miles on it..
I put a frogskin cover on the outside of the hood. Got it on Ebay for ZR7000. Not sure if they have it for vipers

They dont have it for Vipers. Our vent area is shaped different than 7000. Staggs there is supposed to be 2 or 3 foam pads between the mesh grill and radiator which space it off fins about 1/8in. That said mine hasem and is still quite a few bent fins. Some of that Frogskin screen over the grid would be best or just dont put up with roost.PASS!

That's kinda what I was thinking. Eccept maybe under the hood and over the radiator protector with a gap between the protector and rad (room permitted) . But maybe I was just in a unique circumstance that got me there in the first place

Lol. You're right passing would solve it and most times I would but was in an area I'm not familiar with so just tried to push his POO along. Haha

That is how mine is right now, frogskin between radiator guard and hood, attached to the hood. With radiator fan reversed of course

Stingray if you ever get a chance take a pic. Thats a good idea. How did you attach it?

Ya gotta let the slow guys set the pace once in a while, otherwise they feel sad and lonely.
