I had a bolt come loose on the pivot point on my rear skid it had worn the bolt hole bad on the rail eventually the bolt fell out. Check and make sure they are tight and have loctite on them I'm waiting to hear back if Yamaha will cover the rail under warranty.

Gona check my bolts

Just my opinion but unless you are prepared to completely remove the bolts, wire brush them, clean bolt and hole with Brakeclean, dry them and reinstall with new Loctite and proper torque. Leave them alone or just visually check them. The Loctite will not work after it has been disturbed and overtorque can cause more issues. A paint mark works best for checking bolts to see if they are loosening. That said if you don't trust factory job do it right like stated above. I did about 5000mi ago and was very happy to find all bolts well Loctited and torqued.

Agreed! Key is proper torque. Use a torque wrench. German standard torque, guten tight, doesn't cut it. If a fastener moves, new LocTite Blue does need to be applied. However, I don't think a slight archaeological layer of old LocTite is going to cause harm. Clean off the flakey stuff, re-LocTite, and bring to torque. Bottomline, knowing the torque spec, and using it, will prevent heart ache in the future. I "click" them all on a regular basis.Just my opinion but unless you are prepared to completely remove the bolts, wire brush them, clean bolt and hole with Brakeclean, dry them and reinstall with new Loctite and proper torque. Yamaha came back and asked me to check the other side to make sure it had loctite one it, the quality control on these vipers is a bit scary, love my machine but it has the same quality issues that all my old cats had.
All if my bolts were well thread locked from the factory and spun hard the majority of the way out. I had most of mine out when I had it apart to do the 4 wheel kit and shock revalve. I neglected to hit a couple with thread lock and lost one bolt from one of the small cross shafts on the trail on the March Muni ride. Luckily another TY'er had a bolt and we put it back together on the trail only to have the shaft and bolts disappear later down the line.
