ram air and exhaust safe???

allen....what kind of real world difference will be seen by the power commander with air/exhaust and plugs?

Does it take a few miles after you do the air kit for the motor to adjust for the added air intake ?

No, there is no "learning" parts in the Yamaha fuel injection system. It is a system that takes inputs from 3 sensors at low speed and calculates the fuel map based on those low speed inputs.

It will vary sled to sled, there is 2-3 sled lengths in a drag race format with the properly setup fuel curve under acceleration. If you believe your sleds was overly rich before you may not need it.

I put the ram air kit on today and noticed a hesitation at the start. When I first bought the sled new there was a real slight one but went away. Is it suggested that I put a programmer on and what is involved in the set up because i have never done anything with MAPS ?

thank you for your help guys.....well i put on the ram air last night...and so now i am running it with ram air and the rumble pack...i have a very slight bog at first when i start but its not very noticeable.....however when i slow down to a nice cruise lets say 7000 rpm and then crack the the throttle again...then it bogs....and almost seems like it catches its breath before taking off to higher rpm....and so if this power commander will fix it.....how do i know what to set the programer at when i plug it into my sled

you can do the adjustment on the sled first ...right srxspec?

You can adjust it trough the pod, but that only works for a little off idle. It might help a little, but I still believe you need a FC. Plus the PCIII, can add or remove fuel if you need it to.

assuming your sled stumbles off idle...the pod adjustment is most likely all you'd need..

search for a post or look on ulmers website..

How do you adjust it through the pod and what is that ? Sorry if its a dumb ? but i'm new to this
You can adjust a PoweCommander from the unit itself, but easier to just rewrite the map yourself on the included software and upload it to the unit. I don't know this, but I strongly suspect that if you buy a PowerCommander from Allen Ulmer, he'd provide you with an appropriate map.

How to adjust through the stock ECU.

This will work as well, just not near as "fine tuned" as a fuel programmer. Anything bought from Ulmer Racing has a baseline map already installed and is plug-in and play.

Thanks Allen, I will try the pod adj. and if that does not work I will be giving you a call for the programmer.

the same goes for me....thanks allen i will also try the pod adj....and if not ill will be giving you a call as well...thanks for the help i really appreciate it....and thats awesome i didnt even know you could do this on these sleds
