Ok guys for those who have this kit,it looks simple to do,question is where do we get the prefilter material, and what design works best to cut the lid so you get the most air flow. Would we be best to copy the design of a no name mentioned ram air box lid, that some of you already have or do our owne design, and how to fasten the material to the lid,and has anyone priced out the lid from a dealer,so if you want to go back to stock, its just a matter of uncliping cover and reinstalling new cover. What do you guys think. ;)! :bling

I'm in!

I'll have mine all off this week for my first oil and filter change!!

STOCK COVER IS AROUND 45 BUCKS, MAKE YOUR OWN PATTERN, THE ONE I GOT FROM FIX HAS THE CUT OUT CLOSES TO THE TOP OF THE "V" IN THE STOCK ONE, A ROTO-ZIP BIT WOULD CUT IT EASY, WHAT A DIFFERENCE WITH THE RAM-AIR, YOU CAN HEAR AND FEEL IT SUCK UP THE AIR AND THE EXHAUST IS MUCH LOUDER

I'm in, we should come up with some type of template, that we could just down load, print, and cut out the holes, also need to find the material as well.

You'll need some type of screen/grid to put over the holes otherwise the filter material will get sucked in.

I kind of feel sorry for FIX but $300 for a couple holes is a little much. Freddie wanted to do this for the RX1 2 years ago and I told him forget it as he would sell one and everybody would copy it.

Well i can truly say my exhaust is plenty loud enough with the hauck pipe and dont believe i would even know i had a mod cover on my airbox to tell you the truth, but i just think sense i have 3 of the components already on,that the opened up air box would really help this mod out,as i can add fuel if i need to. So come on boyd get r done with pics so us old guys can copy it lol i am not to creative lately, but i can copy it if i have details, and i know there are a lot of very clever folks on this site.. So thanks all of you for your input so far,and cant wait till some of you do this..

Yes mighty that is something i was thinking was there underneith that cloth in the pic, what do you think we could use??

I was thinking of picking up a square no name brand air filter from walmart, tearing it apart and using the grid in it.

Does anyone know where I can buy some aluminum honeycomb type grill?

I want to cut it out and rivet it over the ram air system to give it more of a finished off look..

the red dots are just to simulate rivets to give you an idea of what im talking about.
