Another Lake Of Bay's person huh?
We'll be up at the cottage this weekend (s.portage area) and out cruisin the lake. Its the dorset snowball this weekend as you know so if you are down that way we'll likely be amongst the herd of sleds...if you want to take a better look at the fix ram air sysem to see where exactly they made the cut outs just let me know.

The sensor in the box is an air pressure sensor. I would suspect it's job in life is related to having a SEALED airbox..meaning NO airbox lid mods!!!
By sticking on this modded lid, you are now changing the pressure in the airbox dramatically. Infact, now you would probably have not very much vacuum or pressure affect in the box, whichever it should be.
I took a good look at the box last night, and will share this with you. I think the only true mods to this box should be done on the OTHER side of the air filter element, the other side being the INLET of the airbox. That way you are not messing with the DESIGN of the airbox, IMO.
The front of the box rests on the front crossmember. So just in front of the inlet there is a flat surface about 8" x 3". In this area I have drilled approx 30 3/8" holes. This is just an attempt to allow the box to draw some more air from behind the air filter and not from underneath the air box.
Mattzx6's increase in RPMs I am sure are coming solely due to the clutch kit and the fact that he has some miles on his sled now.

I will report back on monday. I did briefly have a chance to test the stock air box lid vs the ram air lid but I want to verify the results this weekend when I have some more time.

Its usually a good time to see some poor guys sinking their sleds at the dorset channel as well. The larger the crowd the more confident and cocky the water skippers get

here,s a good one. i,m going into the fiery grill last friday night and it,s almost dark. i,m walking across the bridge and i hear a sled coming from the hwy 35 side. sled doesn,t sound right and he,s loosing speed. sure enough he goes down right in the middle of the channel at the deep end. not a soul around except me standing on the bridge. anyways he made to the edge and rolled on ice and layed there for awhile. it,s one thing to do the chanel in daylight with a bunch of people around that was the dummbest thing i,ve seen in awhile. on a side note i,ll look for you guys i,m on lake of bays also in rabbit bay

St Nora last week over reved and it put the big ZZ into idiot mode, he justttttttttt made it. Some of you guys think we have problems. There list is as long as most legs.. I did Gaspe' last week and one of the guys with us has a Yellow dealership he had 10 and I'LL repeat 10 all MachZ in the shop...."BROKE" BILL MC

The holes in mine are like this...
Standing infront of the sled with the lid off, look down into the box, see the intake slots? There is a flat area 8"x3" infront of that, and it is there that I drilled about 30 3/8" holes. About 3 rows of 10 or so.
I ran the sled tonight, you can here the extra air as you snap the throttle.

I used the dd racind bullseye I put 6 of them in 2 in the shield up in frt and 4 right behind the side vents.Picked up 100 to 200rpm.No extra noise.Not sure if any great performance gains but Im still looking for some.

if this was going to be a long term setup no question I would experiment with a fuel control box to see if there are any gains.
I'm going forced induction this summer so I'm not going to put to much time, $$ or testing into this current setup. For now, the sled runs great and it will keep me happy for the remainder of winter.
