Ran againt an Apex....NOT IMPRESSED!

Not all 03 thru 05 RX1's are slow. I ran two Apex's and they both lost from out of the hole or from a 30 mph kick down all the way to top end. My 05 has filters, clutch kit and gearing. It's all in the tuning.

A buddy of mine has an 06 Apex ER and I always took him off the line and all the way to the top before he had studs (I have 144 Gold Diggers). I expected to get smoked when he installed his studs...

He's now running 144 Gold Digger (same as me) - other than that it's 100% stock with around 1000 kms (600 miles) on it. My setup is below.

Yesterday we took our sleds out to a long lake near here and raced several times. It went back and forth depending on who hit the throttle first and to some extent "lane choice". Most of the time we were neck and neck all the way across the lake. Top speeds were identical every time except once he slowly crept past me and another time I was very slowly catching up after loosing a sled length to a bad launch.

Basically his stock Apex compared to my clutched 05 RX-1 are so close most of the time you couldn't pick a winner.

(Somehow I think he'll be running an Ulmer kit in the future though and I expect I'll get smoked then...)

Man snow conditions up here suck, WARM, LACK OF SNOW & and ROUGH TRAILS. This thing I SWEAR.............Loves the rough like no other sled I've ever owned, My WARRIOR can't even come close 2 this thing on the rough.........Hell or anywhere 4 that matter.

Guys R coming up 2 me at warm up huts and asking me how I can go that fast over those moguls........LOL.........Never Had That Question Asked To Me Before.


I drive like a LITTLE OLD LADY anyways, so SPEED is Great, but the RIDE & HANDLING is Now Everthing 2 Me. Seems 2 B getting better everytime out as well, as it sure is RESPONSIVE on the Throttle.

my 2005 rx1 with hh clutch & 1,200 miles on it. my 2006 attack with 60 miles on it, both unstuded. close out of the hole but the attack has longer legs & walkes past all the way down the lake. rx1=108mph. attack=115mph

I was searching for something and came across a post by dynoray that said the 05 rx1 had more hp than 03 and 04 rx,s also.Seems like he said 05 were 143to 145 and hed done one that was 148.

First ive ever heard of 05 making more power.
