What a time to come across this one! I just pulled mine in the garage last week for this very same reason. Looked up into the tunnel, and could see the clamps rattling around. All I did was tighten them just so I could make it on my trip the next day. I pulled the gas tank back to get to them. Is this the best way to do it? I'm thinking it's the only way to do it. 1700 miles.

2275 miles, rattling noise, the donuts were gone! they had just dissinigrated and the clamps were all spun around. New ones coming from Yamaha, the snow here in MN is pretty much gone now, Feb 18. I think we will get more, winter isnt over yet!!
