I pull the seals off at the end of every season now. I actually had water in my clutch side drive shaft bearing. I clean it out and put new grease.

Does anyone know for sure that the all-balls driveshaft bearing seal can be removed?
Its not a regular seal like on the oem bearing, its metal..
Thanks

Thats what i figured. Dont know if I'll drill a hole in it, or just leave it for one more season. I took off the speedo sensor and cover.. No signs of rust anywhere. Still fresh grease around the bearing from the assembly...
What do you think? Will it hold up one more season?

I would think they should hold up for another season. I am thinking that if they are sealed closed then water should not be able to get in right?
Bearings can be funny though some can last a long time and some just don't hold up.
Thats what I like about the oem, I can take a few minutes to pop off the seals and clean out the old and put some new.
The sealed bearing, I just can't see how it looks inside.

Although I buy the top shelf bearings Ive seen the cheap ones last just as long...luck of the draw I guess!

Oh I did not realize it was a metal seal. In that case I would drill a small hole and just add new grease with a needle roll it over and keep adding until its full. I would not try and clean out the old. Then clean it on the outside of the hole and silicone it.

Did the greasing yesterday. The seal on the driveshaft bearing was very thin and easy to drill through. Took some pics while doing it. Will post them up when Im "done" with the sled.
Is there any way to inspect the inner seal on the driveshaft bearing? From inside the tunnel? I guess that with a needle on the grease gun its not possible to push enough grease in there to pop out/ damage the inner seal?
I sealed up the hole with white silicone afterwards.

There is no way you could of pushed out the seal with a needle unless you actually physically pushed on the needle too hard. As long as you keep grease in that bearing ride that sled and forget about it until next year.
