Yep, Horrible Conditions, no doubt.
Me 122mph. Probably GPS 117/118
Him 109mph. With skidoo 12% high speedo. Closer to 100mph that day.
Nice try Jamie. Paste & copy this to him and see what he says. He's not going to lie.
I can call him if that would help your cause?
It's become obvious to me the you talk about something you know nothing about.
Hahahaha.......nice try d.b.
Jamie, this can easily be deleted.

Jamie......I hope you know you are validating my point.
His 850 on a nasty lake Went 109 speedo. And my sled did 122 speedo.
What is your point?
Again 850 probably 100mph +/-
Sidewinder 117-/+

Anyone know the weight difference between the 900T and the Sidewinder?
Nice thing about the 998T it seems you can gear them to the moon and if you have enough boost it'll keep pulling. I'm gearing up to 22/37 next year to try and run in the 140s if I can find a long enough stretch on pump gas I might add.

I'm from your neck of the woods originally and there has always been fast sleds up that way. Maybe the snow is faster LOL.

No point just showing a 120+ mph 850 that doesn't exist.

Well.....as you know I honestly cannot vouch for that.
But, send me an address when you get the box opened and I'll be more than happy to head your way with a 100% stock, completely untouched sidewinder. Stock springs, weights, belt, etc. 144studs.

Hey lads....I'm the one who started this whole thread and this is the first post in this thread:
Here's a link to an interesting article that was just posted today on Snow Tech Magazines web site that gives their thoughts on the new Ski Doo 900 Turbo sled and how it stacks up to the SideWinder after they logged 1500 miles on the new Ski Doo Turbo.
It's a good read and really lays the cards on the table as to what Ski Doo is looking to accomplish with this new sled/motor combo in comparison to the SideWinder:
https://www.snowtechmagazine.com/2019-ski-doo-renegade-x-rs-900-ace-turbo/
I simply wanted to post a well written and very objective link to the article that Kevin Beilke from SnowTech magazine wrote. Kevin is as straight a shooter as you'll ever find in the snomo mag biz when it come to evaluating and giving his honest opinions without any sugar coating. Here is a paragraph from the article that I thought was one of the best comparisons between the two sleds:
For starters, this sled is not really comparable to a Yamaha Sidewinder. We say this because it is the most logical machine to compare it to, and if you’re expecting the performance of a 200 HP Sidewinder, the 900 ACE Turbo is not quite in that league. This is a 150 HP sled, one that has impeccable handling and the very best rear suspension you can get, so the ride and handling of the Renegade X-RS is also not in the same league as the Sidewinder. But back to the power, if one is used to the instant throttle response of the Sidewinder and the wicked acceleration that 200 HP delivers you will find the 900 Turbo to be somewhat tame in comparison. Know that going into this, as Ski-Doo did not target the Sidewinder.
I really regret starting this thread because there has hardly been any positive comments made about what Ski Doo is trying to accomplish with this new sled. I am a Yamaha guy through and through but I think that some of us Yamaha guys are just too darn narrow minded and can't really see the whole picture.
I hope that this thread can turn around and get back on the right track and all of the negativity towards Ski Doo and fellow members will come to an end.
MrSled started this site to highlight the positives about this sport and I hate to see all of his hard work and efforts get washed down the drain like this thread is going in a hurry.
Why is so hard to take the high ground at times and just not say anything instead of just bashing something or someone?
What are we arguing about anyway? It's just a freakin' snowmobile!
End of my rant

Not a good comparison IMO.585 for a 137 SW,528 for a 137 900t
Using the XRS figures to my sled(same shock style) they are about 40lbs diff. I believe.
Now, ride the DOO, and then ride the Winder.....I owned them all, and the 4tec "feels" Heavier then my winder does. Heavier steering, needed to run less carbide and still was a tad heavier steering effort then my winder with 8" carbides(same skis)
900t will be nice, but it will have same stuff I dont like about doo, like using special tools to work on them, charging huge dollars for parts and accessories, far more work to remove plastics and tools needed, and NO LED headlight or LED signature lighting. Same old gauges.
There are pros and cons to ALL brands, and its pretty sad when guys jump on band wagon for one camp then diss that same sled a few months later. Its cause some people are spoiled little kids that have their Daddys buy them everything. They are always fastest, and own the best.
I kinda like being on the redheaded stepchild with all the belt issues...LOL.

I don't think those guys mean any harm....it goes way back I'm sure. Everyone loves to rib each other....and I think everyone knows the score between the 4 brands. I know a lot of dealers do the same.
I stopped at a Doo / Yamaha dealer to buy spark plugs for a buddy. Same dealer I bought my SW from. He proudly reported that although the plugs were expensive, they'd last 6000 miles. I quickly responded, I'd let my buddy know the good news, that the plugs will last 3000 miles more than his motor!
In all seriousness, I've been prowling the different sites and reading the threads. I'm looking for a cross-over.....and believe it or not, I pick up the most information on the threads where guys are trolling/kidding each other, or general purse fights. It may seem sometimes the posts "de-generate," but a lot of useful stuff comes out. It can be good to see the pro/con responses.
Via a purse fight....I'm realizing Cat front ends are really pretty good, maybe better than Doo? I have been tempted to try an 850....but I'm not comfortable with the "acceptable loss rate," that Doo guys seem to go along with. And geez...designing a sled so that an engine package can be switched out quickly? I don't like the thought of that. All stuff that is posted by Doo guys themselves.
Anyway, I appreciate your thread.

Q. Arrius,
Yamaha's guys love the fact that TY is a great resource. And want to keep it that way. While I myself enjoy the banter, (especially with Skidoo riders. Cause I know how frail they've become with the release of the 998t and skidoo is building utility sleds. 900t) haha. Sucks!
Anyway......I've come to grips with this fact. The snowmobile industry is a lost cause money pit! Pick the color you like and enjoy.
When your laying down $15k on something you might not get to use. Hahaha....right for no??
