I just priced a set of new outer wheels for the rear axel of my o4 RX-1. They cost a little over $90 U.S. each. They have what appears to be molded in bearings. Consequently, the bearings can not be replaced. Does anybody have the cheap reliable bearing fix, or know of aftermarket wheel assembly replacements that don't cost an arm and a leg? Preferably the aftermarket's would have replaceable bearings?

Also the parts catalog does not list the bearing for the center, relatively speaking, rear axel wheel. The origonal bearing (6004 RK) is replaceable and an after-market one (6004 2RS) appears to fit just fine, even though the letters after the numbers are 2RS. Does anybody know the difference between these two bearings? I know that they both have seals on each side and they both fit.

Bought aluminum spoked aftermarket wheels last year for the '03 I sold. They had replaceable bearings and were under $20 each. Can't remember what brand but dealer got them out of aftermarket catalog. Also replaced the center wheel bearing, pretty sure it was the same number you stated.

I just went through these same questions with my 04 Warrior, blackjohn helped me out here! The rear wheels can be replaced with 2002 SRX wheels, here are the part#s from Ronnies, they sell OEM parts:
8CR-47550-10-00 GUIDE WHEEL ASSY $23.35 (inner wheel)
8DF-47550-01-00 WHEEL SILVER PLASTIC $21.95 (outer wheel)
Bearings are included!

I also replaced some idler wheel bearings and it looks like they are a 6205 2RS throughout. The 2RS is a double sided rubber seal and that's what you want to use in the wheels in the track and where ever a moisture seal is needed.
I just purchased a dozen bearings from J R Graham Power Sports for $2.95 ea. 8)

FYI - You can also get wheels sold through the Yamaha accessory catalog that look idental to your original rear axle wheels (178mm) on any 02 Viper or 03-06 sleds for $29.95. The SRX style wheels talked about above have a different look than the newer style. Here is a link to Yamaha's site with the accessory style wheels I am talking about. They also have a replaceable bearing unlike the factory ones. Yamaha also sells this style wheel in the smaller 130mm size to match the stock rear axle wheel.
