Changed hifax yesterday on an 07 venture light. When trying to reassemble the axle, it was a royal pain in the ..... Seemed like there was no slack in the track to get the axle back in, I tried compressing the suspension with ratchet straps with limited success. I finally got it back together, just wondering if there is a trick(next time probably not pulling the axle to get the hifax, I had already pulled it thinking I would need to slide the track tot he side, but the hifax cleared the track windows)

It is a PITA to do with the skid in place. No trick I could find. Worth it to pull the skid, which allows you to check over all the idler bearings and stuff easier.

Thanks for the reply, changing the hifax I think I can do with the axle in.

That's how I usually do it, using the reverse trick to peel them off.
