rear heat exchanger, ice build up

I've noticed lots of ice build up in the very rear of the tunnel on my apex. I'm wondering if adding the optional rear heat exchanger would make this condition better or worse. Any opinions?
I've added the white knuckle exhaust and the silencer is smaller than stock making more room for ice to possibly build up. Any one have experience with this exhaust system?

put the rear heat exchanger on my 07 apex er and put 200 miles on last weekend and the snow does not build up on the back of the tunnel. keeps that area clean,will have to see how it goes up in maine next month
