rear heat exchanger on tunnel extension

Has anyone installed a rear heat exchanger from an attack on a shorty with a gade-thrasher tunnel extension for a 136" ? It appears that the exchanger mounts in the same location but hangs a little low. Will I have a clearance issue with the track hitting the exchanger ? Also going to a ZX2 rear suspension but have not received it yet to check the fit. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I know what you mean. My shorty heat exchanger hangs down 3/8th or so of an inch below the factory tunnel/frame where the aftermarket extension fits. I've been told not to worry. It'll be fine. If I had to do it over again, I would use the heat exchangers Hartman sells that goes in the extension.

The clearance will be exactly the same as with an OEM tunnel extension, since the heat exchanger will be in exactly the same place. With aftermarket tunnel extensions, you'll need to either modify the heat exchanger to sit against the extension, OR, create a drop-bracket from the extension down to the heat exchanger.

There IS one advantage to this; with the top of the heat exchanger exposed to snow, you get a better cooling surface area.
