does the rear cooler on the Attak, help to eleminate ice as good as the 121 rear cooler....I'm asking since the attak is so much longer

Also, if I got a cooler for my attak would I need protectors for it if i'm only running at 1.25 Ice Ripper track??

Thanks
D

i noticed today on the ride i just got back from(about30 miles) my sleds little yellow light came on so im guessing it was running hot so i went into the deep stuff and it went out. i cant beleave this overheated on the trail, the snow was hard and crusty. does this need an extra cooler as well??

no...just check your coolant percentage. Some are finding they are 100% anti freeze and while that sounds like it would work, it really doesnt as it doesnt circulate as well in that form, its pretty syrupy.

I,m not near it right now, but if I recall correctly, the rear heat exchanger on the Attak is about 9 inches by 14 inches, so it does melt most of the ice in the back corner.

On my Warrior the rear Xchanger did get rid of much of the ice. Assume it to be the same on the Attak. Your track will hit the exchanger when fully compressed so your scratchers will meet aluminum without protectors.

Its really heat transfer. Water has the best heat transfer from the combustion event(energy) in the cylinders. 100% coolant has the worst hear transfer. Because water freezes there needs to be a happy medium.
50/50 or 60/40 coollant/water mixture works the best for heat transfer and antifreeze up.

Lot's of posts here on this subject.. I put one on as I overheated and had ice build up.

Some here say to dilute, etc. but others say they tried those things and the only thing that worked is the rear cooler.

I can see steam coming out as I ride from the rear cooler doing its job..

Also I can idle for long periods without it overheating and shutting down.

It's easy to put in..very easy.

Well you guys sold me on this, just order the rear cooler and 13mm sway bar from Bruce at Pioneer performace.

What did you guys do for tunnel protectors on the new exchanger???

I haven't done it yet as I don't have studs. They say the sled doesn't need protectors if it isn't studded.

I will put them on sooner or later..

They use square stock aluminum and make one to fit..search and you'll find pics..

Can you use an old pair of sliders???

I read they don't cut it..Maybe that's just with stud useage.

there are pictures in old posts of guys who fabricated them..

I've been rideing with out one for a while myself.
