If you are talking about the three wheels that are on the rear axle, I would add a fourth wheel kit while you have the skid out.
The hardest part is getting the skid back in the sled. However there was a thread somewhere that had great instructions for installing the skid.

wheel
get a small piece of pipe use that as a follow push through and it will
hold parts in place, loosen track all the way, it's a 10 minute job, this
works on outside wheels my center was ok.

I agree, add the fourth wheel while your in there. If the skid is out, it's a cake job. If you want to leave it in, well it gets a little more interesting. I made a bullet point that threads on to the end on the axle so that when your trying to push the axle back through it self aligns all the spacers and washers, I was even suprised at how well it worked. It looks liek Yamaha is now selling the tool in their accessories, I would recomend it as it can save a lot of frustration. Also don't replace the outside wheels with the same ones, get ones that you can change out the bearings on.

If you loosen the track and remove the upper idlers you don't need to pull the skid. Upper idlers come off easy, just clamp on a set of vise grips and the axle won't turn.

Lots of guys running Polaris wheels for the inner rear idler's with good success. http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=28734
Others are running Ski-Doo wheels. If you check out the Apex/Attak FAQ thread, you will see links to several threads on rear wheel options.
