Trying to access weather I really need to remove the skid completely,or not. I feel it can be done with it still installed, maybe compress skid to unbolt shock, and remove any wheels that may be in the way.

It's easy to remove in the sled, did my viper qs3 several time to revalve it.

Ti-down is the secret to pull it out... and to put it back ;)!

I had to pull my skid when I installed the Elka Stage 5 shocks last season. I could see no way... without a lot of trouble, that I was going to get the rear shock out without removing the skid. It goes in & out pretty easy compared to the mono in my 06 Apex.
