From what I have seen at dealership prior to and while picking up sled is, surprise no one has heard about this!
As if I am the only one that noticed, and I had the same flyer that is posted on previous page and I brought it with me. Just amazement once I pointed it out.
Only sidewinders were LTX-LE no RTX or other models to compare to but thanks to this site I know the suspension is not the RR.
Something not making sense, time will tell huh!!

Going back to the video overview a few pages back that is a Yamaha US rep/employee making specific reference to and pointing directly at the RR skid which visibly obviously even from the video has thicker rails which he states categorically. The entire notion of the "story" thats being put out by Yamaha currently is total crap and spin control. Somewhere along the way the decision was made not to include the RR skid that was clearly in that pronto for cost weight or whatever but it didn't just happen by chance or come as a surprise.
I sincerely doubt I'll ever break the skid and I am super pumped about the stock power and big power possibility and excited to have a new sled but everyone has a right to be pissed off.

Dual Shock SR 137 Race Rear Suspension
The drop-link style Dual Shock SR 137 Race rear suspension is a competition-grade strengthened version of the standard Dual Shock SR suspension package. It is the next generation result of years of punishment and development in snocross and cross-country competition. This “crossover” suspension offers premium bump compliance and control on trail, additional bump bridging capabilities thanks to its stretched length, and additional floatation and traction for occasional off-trail use. The SR 137 is a “coupled” suspension that utilizes a unique “sliding” front arm mount. With up to half-inch of movement at the front arm “slot”, the system allows the suspension to deliver controlled (reduced) ski-lift during acceleration while still retaining front arm bump compliance.

i don't think a lot of dealers have a clue if they have the rr skid or not.
I know mine didn't even know they were supposed to have a goggle bag.i don't think a lot of dealers have a clue if they have the rr skid or not.
Surprised more dealers don't read the TY forums. Info is here way before Yamaha lets the dealers know.

Unfortunately that's the way it is. I'd like to meet a salesperson at most dealerships who is as passionate about this sport as a TY member.Surprised more dealers don't read the TY forums. Info is here way before Yamaha lets the dealers know.
That's why I ordered my SW from a dealership who's about 300 miles from me. The owner of the shop "gets it", supports the sport, and his attitude and passion trickles down through his whole staff.

Wow....talk about bringing up an old post.
The simple answer to your question is that nothing ever happened with the issue. It was simply a case that during the spring order period Yamaha advertised an RR based skid on the LTW-LE and didn't deliver it as advertised.
It was a case of "Specifications Subject To Change."
If you read the whole thread you will find that there were a lot of guys that were not too happy with the outcome.
End of story.
