A friend of mine is having problems with the rear shock on an 06 mtn Apex. He sits on the sled and it drops 6-8 inches, so he had it recharged, no luck. He then had it rebuilt and it still drops 6-8 inches. Is there something special to do when putting it back in? He's tried changing the setting on the side of the tunnel and it still drops.

the spring controlles ride height the shock slows its travel for comfort adjust the spring tension or replace with a "big Boy" spring.

it is in the yamaha catalog and from a local shock repair shop i now one is in NY but not sure of the name.

Not sure on the mountain suspensions but on my 136" mono shock I had simular issues and had to set and adjust the " Sag" mine was set for a person of like 140lbs and I weigh 200lbs. There is a settings, measurment and how to do in the manual or book. I can't remember but I will bet it is in the tech section. I will see if can find it. I had major issues getting my sled to handle. Made a great improvement. ;)!

Sorry In the FAQ topic they only had the mono settings for 121 and 136in. I am sure there must be simular ride in or sag charts for the MTN line.
Blue ;)!

The sag is the same 40 - 45 mm in sag plus there is a max measure when the spring can't be collapsed ant more so you need a heaver spring.
